Each process of the Washi Jeans is made in Okayama, from the making of the yarn, to weaving of the fabric, to sewing and washing.

With Okayama rich history of producing textiles, and Kojima known as the birthplace of Japanese denim, together with the beautiful water in Japan, there is no where else In this world can produce such highly crafted artisan jeans than Okayama.

HIRO YOSHIKAWA is born from the 350-year history in sake making family, which the famo;y was originally specialized in indigo dyeing for Maekake ( traditional Japanese aprons) . Hiro, the 2nd son of this distinguished 18th-generation sake family, was immersed in a world of creativity from a young age. Upon graduating from university , Hiro embarked on a journey around the globe to pursue a career in fashion.

He explored fashion cultures across Europe and Asia, developing a passion for denim along the way. Determined to hone his skills, Hiro returned to Okayama, Japan—the birthplace of denim—to master the art of denim craftsmanship under the guidance of a skilled mentor. Armed with this profound expertise, Hiro journeyed back to Europe to share his knowledge and promote Okayama’s revered denim craftsmanship internationally.

Today, Hiro is celebrated as a Master Jeans Washing Designer, offering his expertise to leading denim brands worldwide.
